Most business owners spend a lot of time thinking about locks and deadbolts. What they don't always think about is the latch area - that small gap between the door and the frame where a determined person can work a credit card, shim, or pry tool to bypass the lock entirely. It's one of the most overlooked vulnerabilities on a commercial door.
A latch guard closes that gap. It's a reinforced metal plate that covers the latch bolt area on the outside of the door, making it significantly harder for someone to tamper with the mechanism. Simple concept, real-world results. It doesn't replace your existing hardware - it works alongside it.
What we like about this upgrade is how clean and low-profile it looks once it's installed. The stainless finish sits flush against the door and doesn't look out of place on a professional storefront or commercial entry. Nobody walking up to your door is going to notice it - but anyone trying to force their way in is going to run into a problem fast.
This kind of work falls squarely in our wheelhouse. Our access control services aren't just about keypads and card readers. A lot of what we do is evaluating a door from top to bottom and identifying the weak points - then addressing them with the right hardware. Sometimes that means a full electronic access system. Sometimes it's a latch guard, a door reinforcement kit, or a better strike plate.
If you've got a storefront, office, or commercial entry that could use a closer look, we're always glad to walk through what's there and tell you honestly what we'd recommend.
